About the Book

The Halls of Trepidation are Verstra’s worst prison—the hell into which criminals and terrorists are thrown, never to reemerge. The Rainbow is all powerful, the only thing standing between Verstra and the forces of darkness, the demons and vampires and werewolves. Only the threat of looming war—war that seems set to destroy not only the Rainbow but Verstra as a whole—could drive the omnipotent organization into the bowels of hell in search of salvation. When Yarra White—notorious assassin, militia leader, and all-round dangerous criminal—is sprung from the world’s worst prison by the very organization that sent her there, an organization that wants her dead, she fears the worst. Ray Mossman is a young lord of the Rainbow. He knows Yarra has both the power and potential to save them all. But Trepidation has changed her. How can he ask her to help him save his own family when he stood idly by and allowed her to be imprisoned? Caught in the middle of lies and misdirection, trapped in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, and caught in an ancient web of deceit, buried under truths and revelations long since forgotten by the world, truths that should never be uncovered, Yarra must find a way to survive in this new world to use every piece of knowledge and magic available to her to ensure she retains this grasp on freedom. Because after a lifetime of chains, Yarra will sacrifice it all in order to remain free.
