What in the World is Viction?
Viction is where two worlds collide intentionally. It takes more than a vision to live life to the fullest and lead well. It takes purposeful action with a specific intentionality. One without the other or in the wrong order leads to either a stalemate in life or a catastrophic series of events where picking up the rumble leads to exhaustion.
Viction is where vision and action collide to catapult your life forward with strength and tenacity. The principles outlined in each chapter go beyond traditional goals and to-do lists. Each section in Viction addresses critical areas that, when left unchecked, stifle your progress and success.
It’s time to embark on this journey where there is deliberate reinforcement to who you are, whose you are, and how you live. Welcome to your beautiful life unveiled where Viction catapults your more significant growth and worth. Each chapter provides “Strategic Solutions” and has a reflective section entitled “Cheering You On & Championing His Call!” This space is to denote your Viction clarification and inspiration. The five areas of focus include Divine Insight, Victionary Insight, Team Insight, Young Leader Insight, and Generational KidMin Insight.
Valuable and Vibrant
Valuable - In a world that places value on things more than people and likes on social media more than relationships, it is paramount to recognize the actual worth of people, individual team members, young leaders, and seasoned leaders. The only way to value yourself and work well with others is to know, recognize, and embrace the value of time spent alone with God at the start of each day. Keep reading. Time in the secret place is better for you than a healthy breakfast or workout. This one connection breathes more vitality and creativity into you than the best of podcasts, sermons, or articles. Stop looking at the world’s resources. Look to the ultimate Source.
You know this, but do you make time to do this throughout the day? God created us for a relationship with Himself. He longs to talk with you. He desires to validate your significance at this very moment. Think about it. The best life Coach ever, and Creator of the universe, wants to hang out with you continuously! Schedule and keep these appointments. The ultimate CEO desires to meet with you; recognize the significance.
Sometimes we are not sure where to start or how to regroup with the CEO of the universe. We have canceled far too many meetings with Him or let fear and intimidation keep Him at bay. Just start, open The Bible. Devotions and books about Jesus are great. However, when you want to know someone well, you spend time with them. Start by reading the letters in red first. Ask God for understanding about everything Jesus said in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the first four books in the New Testament. Spend time in the writings of Psalms and Proverbs in the Old Testament. Time together is not a speed-reading contest, nor is it cranking up audible two times faster to complete the books. It is time to grow in a relationship. I’ve found reading one or more chapters three times before reading further brings clarity to what God is saying and how I need to live.
For example, I camped out in Psalm 46 first thing this morning. Even though I have read this passage multiple times over the years, here’s what took place while pondering 11 verses. During the first read, God highlighted His protection over me in verses 1, 7 and 11. The second time, The Father showed me, Jesus, in verse 4, as He is Living Water. The third read through, I saw His specific intent for me today. Verse 5 happens amid chaos. Here it is, “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day.” Personalize the verse even more, and it reads like this: “God is within me, I will not fall; God will help me at the break of day.” He’s speaking loud and clear to you, too. Genuinely value time together now as it’s an investment with high dividends and eternal value.
The litmus test is not in achievement, fame, or net worth. Significance is identity in Christ Jesus. Dismiss lies spoken over you or anyone who’s opposite of this:
1. God loves me, and I am loveable.
2. I have the mind of Christ, and I am uniquely creative.
3. I look at how to do things because, with God, all things are possible.
Next, look for the value in yourself and others. Since we live in a fallen “me first” world, do this. Select three people, a colleague, student, and family member. Ask God to highlight how He sees them. Intentionally validate people based on their worth. Remember, if you can’t say something genuinely nice, don’t say anything at all. Go back and ask God to give you His heart for people. You’ll be glad you did. Value God, yourself, and others.
Vibrant - It’s easy to see in a vivid photograph where the essence of an object pops at a mere glance. People are also vibrant. It’s that unique WOW factor that captivates and draws people into their presence.
My most recent encounter with a vibrant child was a few weeks ago on a chilly fall, Texas morning. Keep in mind, you can be wearing shorts in the morning and need multiple layers of clothing within eight hours. Packing away seasonal clothing is a risky business in the Lone Star State.
During the workweek, I greet students who are car riders at three different campuses. One particular morning, there were sleepy, timid, and clingy children. I kept waving, smiling, and opening vehicle doors. There were friendly, hugging, and wide-eyed children with many smiles and good mornings, too.
I opened yet another door...
