As they reached the corner of the block, Dee, Selfie, and Rumi stepped in front of them. Uzo instinctively hid behind Bibi, clutching tight to the old woman’s dress. “Heeeey Uzo! Out for a stroll with granny, I see,” Dee started, sucking her teeth. “Aaaaawwww how sweet! Nanny and baby out for a stroll,” Selfie mocked, making goo-goo eyes at Uzo as if she were an infant. “Hey Miss Bibi,” Rumi said, quietly. She looked ashamed to be associated with girls who would mock the elderly, but at least she could show a little respect to make up for it. Bibi nodded curtly and pulled Uzo from behind her leg. “Good morning girls. I was just telling Uzo a story that I was told growing up about a little girl that got bullied in her village. Little did the bullies in the village know that the little girl had a strong, powerful spirit inside of her, a fierce queen’s spirit. And, one day, the bullies went too far. They pushed the little girl to the point that her fierce little queen inside, became a ferocious queen on the outside.” The girls looked at Bibi confused and Uzo took her opportunity to lead Bibi around them and onward towards school. Bibi and her silly stories were just going to make things worse with Dee and Selfie!

About the Book
Uzo is a bright and talented young lady with a big and bubbly personality. She's always been a model student and very active in her home life. But this school year has turned her entire world upside down: she has to deal with bullying. How will Uzo handle the pressure? Can she learn to navigate her situation and come out on top? About the Author
Since Ms. Miller was a young girl, she's always wanted to tell stories like those she grew up reading. Coming from an abusive household, she would recreate scenarios in her head of ways that her life experiences could be different and transmit them to paper. Now a single mother of an inquisitive, rambunctious, curious and all around bright son of her own, she strives to be a better parent each day by using the therapy coping skills in order to create a more healthy and loving environment in her own home. She's an advocate and mentor to foster youth in her community and hopes to continue her growth and accomplishments in order to help young people and parents by raising awareness of mental health issues in young children in teens. Her goal is for "Uzo and the Bully" to touch and change as many families as possible, hopefully changing many unhealthy family dynamics into more positive ones!
