Whether you are building a new relationship with God or growing in the one you already have, each step you take is a stepping stone; it is a process. And a part of that process is getting to know and understanding the God in which you want to know and “actually (truly) you are hearing from, and whether it is honestly God who is speaking to you. And you may ask yourself, “As a new believer in Christ, how can I go about making that transition in my life going forward, and further developing a relationship with my Father God through Christ?” Of course, you would start by going to church and hearing God’s word from the lead shepherd of that congregation; nonetheless, there is nothing like expanding on what you have heard in church, then spending time with God intimately in your own time and space. And you may wonder what the next step is? It’s simple: if you want to hear from God beyond what you experienced in church, you must get to know Him directly. That starts with reading, understanding, and learning about the God you want to know—not just the one described at church or by family. Think about how much you grow in your relationship with God by reading His word for yourself! [John 4:42] This begins by reading the stories found in the Bible. The Simplicity of Engaging With God’s Word One of the best ways to deepen your relationship with God is by reading the stories in the Bible. These stories are more than ancient accounts; they are written for our understanding and growth. Immersing in biblical stories helps you connect with God’s messages and gain insights into His character. Reading Bible stories allows you to experience God’s teaching firsthand. Rather than relying only on what you hear from others, you can discover God’s word yourself. This personal engagement can enlighten and comfort you, providing a straightforward path to know Him better. The Bible is a vast source of wisdom that requires thoughtful study and reflection. Explore and internalize its rich teachings. This inspired me to compile this work to provide young readers in Christ with a fluid reading experience. I want to offer an easy, relaxing way to absorb each book of the Bible and gain a natural context of its stories. This condensed version is for young readers. An Accessible Approach to God’s Word for Young Readers My goal is to offer you a straightforward, relaxing way to read God’s word. This approach makes it easier to navigate the Bible and to comfortably absorb its messages. As you read, you’ll gain a better understanding and connect more deeply with the stories. This abridged Bible is for young readers or those new to God’s word. It offers succinct summaries of Bible books, using the condensed New International Version. The focus is on the main narratives and key figures. It aims to simplify engaging with Scripture, making it accessible while preserving each story’s meaning and essence. My hope is that you find it easier to relate to God’s word and feel inspired to grow in your relationship with Him. I want to be clear: I read the entire Bible to understand and simplify it for others. Honestly, reading the entire Bible was one of my best spiritual experiences. It deepened my knowledge and ability to hear from God. Before, I had read parts of the Bible and many scriptures since becoming a believer but reading it from Genesis to Revelation was challenging and inspiring. That experience led me to compile this work. My prayer for young readers and those seeking growth in God’s will is that you receive the same blessing. To be clear, my intention is not to add, remove, or distort God’s written words from the King James Bible. The Bible warns against such acts (Rev 22:19). If you want more details about the Bible, I encourage you to read a version you find comfortable. This work is meant as an introduction to storytelling and as an easier way to reread or revisit biblical stories. At the start of each book, you’ll find a description of how God is represented. For example: “Genesis”—He’s the seed of the woman who bruised the serpent’s head. “Exodus”—He’s The Passover Lamb. “Leviticus”—He’s our High Priest Forever. I pray this work encourages you and helps you align your life with God’s will, bringing blessings promised to His children. I strongly believe this work will bless many, as God said in His Word (James 2:14,17).
