She served as gynaecologist and obstetrician, and later on various other positions as Deputy Chief Medical Officer, District Project Manager and Assistant Director for the state medical services for almost thirty years after which she chose to study again and recently completed Master of Public Health from University of Sydney, Australia. Her inclination towards yoga and naturopathic treatment has its roots from the family atmosphere she had as a child and her brush with books providing home remedies for various ailments. While practicing as a practitioner of modern medicine she still advocated certain home remedies, which were also aired in women’s programs by All India Radio in eighties. With her family responsibilities over she found enough time out of her job to research and study naturopathy and yoga to understand the scientific basis for the procedures carried out. There she attended naturopathy camps and came in contact with the stalwart naturopaths. With her basic knowledge of botany, chemistry and medical science topped up with the knowledge of principals of naturopathy and yoga, acupressure, reflexology etc made her a perfect combination to write this comprehensive book. After having performed enough surgery and prescribed enough medicines she realised that it was a vicious circle with no end in sight.. As District Project Manager she started and edited a news letter for UPHSDP, but creativity failing to find a let out her posting at directorate of medical and health services of state of UP Lucknow brought about the final detachment. She took premature retirement from the job to pursue her passion. In her spare time she works as an editor for the newsletter she publishes on the Internet for her web site “letnaturecure.com” other times she enjoys being with her family in Australia and relishes every moment with her grand children. She equally enjoys reading, yoga, outings, travelling and watching movies.
