About the Author
I was born in a rural homeland village called Shoromoni in Limpopo Province, South Africa. I am the last born of the late Mengos and Mokgadi Sekete. I grew up herding cattle in the thick bushes of this Province hence the title “The Jungle of the Virgin Forest.” In those days, every young male was expected to herd livestock even though their parents did not keep one. I grew under the care of my late cousin David Maake after the death of my mom. He struggled to give me education as it was very expensive to educate a child during apartheid South Africa. I am a teacher and works at a secondary school named Mokwane five km away from the village I was born. I am married to Wisani and we are blessed with one child, Maruping. I count myself amongst the blessed South Africans because I witnessed the release of the iconic leader “Nelson Mandela,” I voted for his party and lived under his government.
