About the Book
It all starts innocently enough at a summer church carnival. Before it is over there is horror and sorrow, supreme happiness and utter disbelief.
A little girl vanishes from the merry-go-round. One moment she is there, the next she is gone and a parent’s worst nightmare begins to play out. And she will not be the only little girl to disappear.
In the small enclave of South Philadelphia catastrophe draws many people from many different worlds. The police, a team of detectives unhappily thrown together, an aging Mafia don, and the child’s teacher, Sister Frederick, all become involved in first one then another frightening abduction. The story travels through several different worlds as children are sought and found, saved and destroyed.
