About the Book

The Mouse That Lived In My Shoe was first written seven years ago when I was 13. The story was created when I was sick with an illness called pericarditis and my doctor told me I had three months to live. During that time I came up with an idea for a story that was based on two best friends, Billy and Bud. The reason I wrote the story was to show other children that they too can make accomplishments as long as they don’t give up, even when they’re sick.

So allow me to introduce you to the lives and adventures of Billy and his best friend Bud. Billy is a young boy just moving into a new home. He’s afraid that he won’t make any friends but the thing he doesn’t know is that a little mouse named Bud is moving in too. Once the two meet, they instantly become best friends. Billy is afraid to let his parents know that his dearest friend is a little mouse, so Billy tries his best to keep it a secret. So where do you hide a little mouse anyway? In your old tennis shoe, of course! A warm, cozy shoe becomes Bud’s very own home thanks to Billy. So learn more about these two friends as you read about their lives together. Find out what happens when Bud’s cousin Kurby comes for a visit and how it turns out to be a bit of a disaster!

But most of all get to know Billy and Bud, become part of their lives, and they’ll become part of yours!
