About the Book

One day, Hormiga, king of the ants, was sent by Lluvar, the rain God, to find water for the drought stricken fields. Hormiga, after falling into the most beautiful lake in the land, and with the help of the king of the waters, became human, and finally, a son to a poor fisherman and his wife. Hormiga had powers unknown to most, even his parents, and although he loved his human form and his loving parents, he left his home to become the spirit and the wind of the beautiful lake. The wind known as Xocomil. The story relates the mythical life of Hormiga, king of the ants, and how he became “Xocomil”, the spirit of Lago Atalin, that to this very day blows wildly across the beautiful lake.
