About the Book

Welcome To “Resurrecting the Art.” A book that is meant to bring you back to an incredible world. A world where imagination owns the only boundaries. This book will attempt to remind people that there once was a time when people lived and died for the arts. The renaissance, a time of creative enlightenment. During this time words were meant enlighten, paintings were meant to inspire, and music made us feel. Where one single thought could create another world and one written line could bring it to life. This book is my attempt to revive the passion that once drove those arts and their artists. To remind people that art isn’t just a painting, a song or a poem. Art is imagination and inspiration. Art has no rules, punctuation, brush strokes or notes. Art is open to interpretation, each with a different meaning. Interpretations in which 20 people read the same poem and they all get a different meaning out of it. The following is in the eyes of the reader. As you read the poems remember that it can always mean exactly what you get out of it.

About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jacob Edwards was born on the south side Chicago, Ill. in the winter of 1983. He moved to Okemos, Michigan in Elementary school and soon discovered the vast woods. That is where he fell in love with nature. Jacob’s Father, William Edwards was a long time jazz musician, exposing Jacob to his first sounds of music. In high school he joined the orchestra and learned to play the violin. He soon had the chance to travel to Europe with his high school orchestra. This gave him a new appreciation for the incredible world surrounding him, and in turn gave him a love for travel. During this time he began to write songs, recording them in a small studio with his close friends. There he learned a small amount about the hip hop industry thus giving him a deeper knowledge of the music. After high school Jacob joined a poetry/spoken word group called the Nu Poets, doing small shows around Mid-Michigan. Thus began the Resurrection of the Art………………
