About the Book

About the Author

Larry Cox grew up in Littlefield, a small town on the south plains of Texas. He attended Texas Tech University and West Texas State University where he majored in music with English as a minor. His first lyrical writings resulted in three recorded songs. That music career had begun in his teen years as a drummer for such artists as Waylon Jennings, Sultans of Swing, Keen Teens and, for a brief time, Buddy Holly. At the age of 14, Larry was a radio announcer for a local station, which later led to his becoming the youngest program director in Texas broadcasting. This career led to various speaking engagements, radio commercials and hosting special events. His experience as an owner of a recording studio lured Larry to Los Angeles and a new career involving music engineering and producing. He has numerous hit records on his list of credits along with a Grammy® nomination for BEST ENGINEERED RECORDING. During his 30 years as a member and 7 years as an elected Governor of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, he was involved in starting a Mentoring Program for gifted young students seeking a career in the music industry. His passion for the arts has found expression in the fields of literary and screen writing, narration, music production for film, video production, professional photography, and two greeting card lines. Writing short stories and poetry have been a silent passion for Larry since his youth. This book is a result of his varied life experiences and multiple talents.
