My granddaughter Madeline, Maddie as she demands to be called, is the most precious child I've ever been around. She began talking and expressing herself at a very young age. We laugh and kid her that she was talking and giving orders the moment she came out of her mommy's tummy! She is very dramatic and expresses herself in an adult way. She has a very vivid imagination and always has a pad of paper and a pencil handy- ready to express her thoughts. She loves to read and retains what she reads. We tell her she has a “memory like an elephant.” She does enjoy being the center of attention and can sometimes be too bossy with her family and friends. She loves to sing and dance and has a great sense of rhythm, which she expresses so well in song and dance. The thing I admire most about Maddie is her love and compassion for her friends and her enthusiasm for everything she does in her young life. - Memaw Mary

About the Book
One dark Halloween night, 3 kids, Eli, Kalyn, and Maddie set out on an adventure. Maddie's mom, Jackie, had told them not to go, but they did anyway. They went out to old, dark, scary house and they saw all sorts of creepy monsters. They got chased, someone swung an ax at them, and they almost got cooked!!!! Wow, so many scary things happened that night. Did they ever make it out of that haunted house?! OMG... what a night!
