About the Book
Snowball was born in the late fall of 1976 soley to entertain the kids of the author, Keith Gonyea. After the kids had heard the story for a couple of Christmas seasons it was relegated to a box of “Keiths Stuff” and put in the basement. The story speaks for itself and there was really never an intent to publish Snowball. It sat there for about 30 years until Keiths daughter, Michelle, asked if he still had a copy of Snowball. Keith searched for a couple days but could not come up with the elusive box of “Keiths Stuff” so he dusted off the grey matter and rewrote the story totally from memory. The story of Snowball was written entirely to entertain kids and those who remain kids at heart. There certainly are no claims that it is great literature for the ages...some will like it, some will tolerate it, and some will despise it. It is intended to entertain and hopefully generate that most beautiful thing...a smile on the face of an innocent child.
About the Author
Keith Gonyea has his roots firmly established in the beautiful State of Wisconsin. He was born and raised in the Eau Claire area and has lived in the Fox Valley community of Combined Locks for the past 40 years. Keith has 5 grown kids and two step-kids. The story of Snowball, in fact, was written back in 1976 to entertain his own kids when they were toddlers. There was no plan to publish it until Keiths’ daughter Michelle asked a few years ago if he still had a handwritten copy...so Snowball was reborn. Keith is a military veteran and a retired electrician. His beloved wife of 39 years Shari passed away on May 21, 2013, so Keith lives alone with his faithful little shih tsu friend, Tarkus. When he was younger Keith was a boxer, a skydiver, and played rugby until age 50. Now for his relaxation Keith plays guitar, keyboard, and golf, and has written dozens of poems for noteworthy family occasions.
