About the Book
It is an autobiography of a Syrian woman’s unusual life and eighty years of experience. Some years were happy, and others were sad. The Syrian society is not widely known, and reading her book, one can get an idea about that country and its society, traditions, and the different religions and sects. I am introducing Syria and my life to the reader.
About the Author
Lady X was born in Damascus, Syria, and studied English literature in Damascus University. She was a teacher for twenty-two years and a freelance journalist and a tourist guide during her free time. She participated in seven travel agencies conferences and also in the World Woman Conference in Nairobi in 1985. She wrote two books about Syria’s historical sites, one in Arabic and another in English, for tourists; the title for both was Syria Source of Civilizations. She visited forty-five countries and then immigrated to Canada in 2000 to join her kids, one son and two daughters.
