About the Author

Louise Johnson – Smith is a retired educator, after having worked in the public School system for 34 years. She’s married to the Reverend Henry L. Smith; who also furthered his education after college; and has an earned Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion, The Interdenominational Theological Center, The ITC; in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to being the pastor of the St. John Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama; pastor of the Mt. Siani Baptist Church in Gifford, Florida, and the past pastor of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Homestead, Florida for eighteen years; he was also interim pastor for the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He, too, taught in the Broward County School system. Louise has an earned Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Florida Memorial College; now known as Florida Memorial University. Louise enrolled at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, where she earned a Master of Education degree, with emphasis in Reading. Wanting to learn more about the teaching of reading, she enrolled at Nova Southeastern University, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she earned a Specialist Degree in Reading.
