About the Book

What if everyone were rich? What would we need to change in the economy for every person to have complete economic freedom, to buy whatever they needed, whenever they wanted?

Could we stabilize the economy and eliminate all recessions, economic depressions, and inflation forever?

Fixing Capitalism proposes a creative new idea to fix these flaws in the economy: stop using money to mediate exchange. We can use the global information network we call the Internet to:

1. Keep track of competition between businesses,
2. Measure and track supply and demand based on the number of goods businesses sell,
3. Enable people to have free access to everything the economy has to offer, and
4. Use the full resources of the environment to meet the needs of every person on the planet.

This book presents the author's research into the nature and history of money, its role in the economy, and how we might replace it, creating a more stable, equitable and sustainable economy in the process.

About the Author

Jonathan Carr is a dedicated public servant with degrees in government and social theory, and decades of experience helping people and implementing public policies for a living in both the private sector and the public sector.

Mr. Carr first realized the possibility of abolishing money to create an equitable capitalist economy that was still competitive, productive, and innovative in the spring of 1992 and he spent the following decade researching the idea, resulting in the book, Fixing Capitalism (2002). Realizing that the year 2002 was not the right time for such an idea, he put the idea on a shelf and went on with his career.

Twenty years later, believing the time is coming for a networked economy and universal economic freedom, Mr. Carr created the Center for Creative Policy Alternatives in 2022 to research how such an economy might work on the ground level, resulting in the upcoming book, Next Generation Capitalism.
