About the Book

In Colonial America there existed a living and breathing Golem whose haunting legend traveled across the Atlantic to be resurrected in Mary Godwin Shelley’s family home when she was only a girl. This cursed tale would remain in her thoughts over the years and would provide the nexus between her life and times and a new genre of literature: gothica. When Lord Byron issued the challenge for a ghost story on that fateful night amidst a tempest storm, it set in motion a destiny fulfilled. And the legend of Frankenstein was reborn.
