About the Book
Paisley Can’t Eat Peanuts The number of children with nut allergies is increasing at an alarming rate. This book is written to help children with allergies understand that they are special, and gives them a creative way to cope with the allergy in day to day life (school). Paisley is a typical little girl who does things just like every other little girl. One day Paisley gets an itchy reaction on her cheek when her daddy gives her a kiss after eating peanuts. Her mom takes her to visit the doctor, and learns that she has an allergy to nuts. Pretty soon Paisley has to start school and she is worried that the other children won’t understand her allergy. Her mom helps her decorate a special t-shirt that reads, “Paisley can’t eat peanuts.” Paisley has fun making the shirt with her mom, and wearing it to the first day of school. When the other children notice Paisley’s t-shirt, it gives her a chance to tell the teacher and the other children about her allergy. To know that everyone is aware of her special allergy makes Paisley happy.
