About the Author

About the Author I am an American by adoption and was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. In Guyana, I was first employed as a librarian and later I moved into the field of administration. I am a mother of five children, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of five—and counting. The idea of this book began a few years ago, when I reflected on the lives of a family I once loved and respected. On my thirtieth birthday, I was introduced to a handsome couple who was highly respected in our community, and we became close friends some years later, on several occasions, I saw my friend’s husband in the company of a young lady. I was in a quandary as to whether I should mention the fact to his wife. For fear I would lose two friends, I said nothing. In the end, I have lost not only my two friends, but also a family. I am not quite sure if I had made an error in judgment.
