About the Book

Did you ever believe something just because someone you loved told you it was true and would you still believe it if that someone vanished from your life?

Olivia was a young child when her dad first told her they were going to search for a special shell on the beach in Cape May, New Jersey; a shell he referred to as the Magic Conch. She may have been disappointed as they walked from the beach with an empty bucket in tow year after year, but Olivia never stopped believing.

Jack Hudson, super-dad and marine biologist had a love for the ocean and was passionate about keeping it free of harmful chemicals. When called to work on his long awaited, government funded project in the Caribbean, he discovered it would have him away on Olivia´s eleventh birthday; the first day of their annual search. The very day he promised her last year, would be their lucky day.

While at sea, a freakish mishap results in Jack falling overboard. When Olivia learns he cannot be found, the day that was supposed to be lucky turns out to be the worst day of her life.

As time passes Olivia finds solace in her memories of their quest to find the elusive shell and that awakens in her a keen interest in her dad´s teachings. When she decides to resume the search, she is totally unaware of the mystical adventure about to unfold...one year to the day of her dad´s disappearance.

My writing skills were in the corporate world as a Regional Education Manager, for Wella USA, where I created lesson plans both in theory and hand on instruction. I designed technique booklets and business building ideas for salon colorists,which were used at seminars I conducted with my team of experts. All were written for use by, and kept under, the Wella Salon Systems name.

Always a storyteller, I started this fable several years ago, but had no time to sink my teeth into it. I write with passion and fantasy about the value of family, believing, and saving our oceans. When I began prepping for this fable I wanted to share the knowledge of the importance of a clean ocean without preaching or demanding. The words flowing from my imagination took on some truth and fact and interwined with a few lovable marine animals to become an entertaining, adventurous, mystical fable offering a gentle reminder to save our waters and beaches so future generations will derive all the pleasure and valuable properties we relish today.

A fable is a story of myth and truth,animals and humans,moral values and lessons learned. Adults, both male and female have reviewed this book and found themselves pleasantly entertained and more aware of a growing problem. Filled with heartfelt emotion, information, adventure and fun,all ages will enjoy and learn from it.
