About the Author

Born and raised in the small, quaint northeastern town of Hop Bottom, Pennsylvania, I learned to appreciate the simple things in life at a very young age. Enjoying nature, having a cheerful heart, and experiencing the love of family members and friends has filled my days with gladness! In my younger adult years, I vacationed in Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach, Florida and also traveled across the country to California. I lived in Hawaii for two years, soaking up the sun and frolicking in the sand, before moving to Texas in 1979. I worked in the insurance industry in Binghamton, New York, in Honolulu, Hawaii, in Dallas, Texas and in Houston, Texas, earning degrees in IIA, (Insurance Institute of America) and CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriting). I left that field, after marrying, to be a stay-at-home Mom, settling in Houston, and became intrigued with the vast world of fitness. I’m currently employed by the Greater Houston Area Y.M.C.A., The Chancellor’s Family Center, and The Terrace at West University, involved in many diverse fitness aspects, helping others stay physically fit and live the best life that they possibly can. My hobbies include writing poetry, line dancing, sewing, reading and singing. I attribute everything that I have and cherish to the awesome power and blessing of the Lord God Almighty!
