About the Book

Poetry in Reality is Leonora Montella’s first published collection of poems, covering three major categories: (1) Philosophical Overtones: (2) Nature And Places In Time: (3) Family And Personal Thoughts: Leonora Montella resides in Garden City, New York. Currently she is a teacher at A.B.G.S. Middle School, Hempstead, New York. Currently, she is working on another book of poetry that will be published next year.

About the Author

Ms. Montella is a dedicated teacher of thirty years. She became inspired to write this book because of her many diversified living experiences as an educator, corporate executive, single mother, grandmother, and a new poetess. She has three master’s degrees in education and fine arts, along with a PD in educational administration. She also had great success for eleven years on Wall Street and uptown Manhattan as a corporate executive in marketing and sales. She returned to education in 1991 as an art teacher. In 1998, she was the Art Department chairperson for Hempstead Schools for one year. Ms. Montella missed teaching and inspiring young minds, so she returned to the junior high school teaching art, implementing an interdisciplinary approach with other academic disciplines such as ELA, math, and social studies. She has been a very successful and innovative educator for many years mastering this type of learning approach, and she is presently teaching at the ABGS Middle School in Hempstead, New York. She is a successful single mother of one daughter who is married and living in Centennial, Colorado. Ms. Montella has three grandchildren and visits them when she is on vacation. Ms. Leonora Montella presently resides in Garden City, New York. Ms. Montella has successfully published her book Poetry in Reality this May 2009. She is presently working on another children’s book.
