About the Book

"Play Your Cards Right" is a unique collection of insights, over a lifetime, by the author. Among the topics are teamwork, relationships, innovation, philanthropy, humor, dreams, respect, friendship, honesty, faith, persistence, nutrition, manners, and communication. The book mirrors a deck of cards. The illustrations and insights reinforce the title. The book can appeal to graduates, newlyweds, those "starting out" in life, and anyone who wants to reinforce their own ideals. "If you´ll not settle for anything less than your best, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in your life". (Vince Lombardi)

About the Author

The author currently lives in Pacific Grove California with his wife of 40 plus years, Marcelline. Jim was born in Fulton N.Y., and moved to California in 1971 with the International Paper Co.. His first job after graduation from LeMoyne College had been with Procter & Gamble. During the remainder of his business career, he has helped start three small businesses, been president of two trade associations and served on the retail advisory board of John F. Kennedy University in northern California. With all of this business success, his proudest accomplishment has been helping raise his three children. He maintains a healthy perspective on the importance of a solid business reputation in achieving your life goals, but always reminds people that there are no tombstones in any cemetery that read – “I wish I had spent more time at the office!”
