About the Author

Patricia Matarazzo, Drexel Avenue School librarian and life-long resident of Westbury, has always been fascinated by the people and events of her hometown. Susan Tazzi, a Drexel Avenue School Special Education teacher, was born and raised in Queens. Working with Patricia for the past 10 years has introduced her to the rich history of a town less than 10 miles from the NYC border. Patricia and Susan decided to write a book about the history of Westbury for school children to enjoy.
