About the Book

This “tattletale” story winds round about with tales of poisonings and detective work. Venus was a pawn used against her loving parents for over a decade. Her heart broke a little as Gretta recounted poisoning Faith systematically and Elijah’s health issues after Venus’s business deal went sour. Gretta Graves grinned as she talked about Elijah’s asthma. “People die from asthma too,” she commented to Venus on a moonlit night—then continued to tell the story slowly, methodically, and in detail. Venus felt hatred rising to her throat. She wasn’t sure how she would get out—Gretta’s plan started unraveling.

About the Author

Alicia Hurst Roberts is a native of Talladega, Alabama and an alumna of Talladega College who moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1990. Through NBMBC Ms. Roberts has served on the Board of Directors for both Project Impact and Project Destiny first time juvenile offender alternative schools and as a facilitator for the DeKalb County Male Mentoring Program led by Regional Director Dottie Toney. Ms. Roberts is President of A. Roberts, Incorporated (established in 1998) and is the author of The Veronian Tales children’s stories. Author and storyteller Alicia Hurst Roberts resides in the city of Sandy Springs, Georgia.
