About the Author

James Jefferson is a disabled Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF) veteran now living in Dallas, Texas, with his family. James Jefferson served in the military for over eighteen years. He is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and a supporter of many other organizations that are advocates for service members. He began writing poetry a few years ago to capture his thoughts and emotions. In doing so, he found writing was a way of emotional escape from the pressures of life. Since he began writing, he has posted several poems on Poetry.com and received numerous accolades from editors for his work. His hopes are that his poetry will connect with its readers.
