About the Author

Teresita was born in Libon, Albay and studied grade school in her native town. She went to Legaspi City where she studied her early high school in St. Agnes Academy, a prestigious Catholic Girl’s School but graduated in Libon Private High School in her home town. In that school, she submitted a long story, entitled "The Passing Shadows" about her longing for her mother when she was 16 years old which was published in their school paper. She finished her BS degree in Education at Aquinas University, formerly Legaspi College, as a high school teacher and did a 2-year Graduate Study in Foreign Language. She was married to Leonardo D. Concepcion in 1959. While raising their family in Manila, Teresita operated her gasoline station and their automotive business for eight years while her husband worked with American Co. She later sold these and joined her husband in the US, in California, where she worked in a bank and moved to Chicago where she then worked with other companies. After five years in the US she went back to STY, Marikina City where she and her family were residing. She was hired as an Executive General Manager in Marketing Operation in Quezon City but later resigned when she was hired to work with the Supreme Court of the Philippines. She continued to work in that office for twenty one years until her compulsory retirement as executive assistant. She has five children and became a widow in 1996. In 1998, she came back to the United States and lived in Jersey City where she was very much involved in various spiritual and religious activities. Among her duties as head of a religious organization was a weekly visit to senior citizens in different hospitals and nursing homes. She coordinated with the priests in providing them weekly Sunday Mass and Rosary prayers. The group also conducted home visitations for masses and Rosary prayers as well, as part of their religious commitments. In 2001 she met a widower, a retired engineer and they got married the following year. Now, Teresita is enjoying her retirement years. She enjoys gardening and loves her flower garden.
