Melva was born and raised in the North West and there she has learned to love the mountains and the mountain lakes. You are more likely to see Melva in the mountains or around water fishing, rather than on the streets. She has a deep seeded love for her children and grandchildren, and loves to spend time with her family. Melva chose her niece to illustrate this book both because of her talents and the love that Melva holds for her family.
