This is the memoir of a book publisher. It wasn’t written in chronological order as his life unfolded. It was written when the events took place so it was fresh in the author’s mind. Then the stories were assembled like a collection of short stories. There are gaps in the sequence like the routine of catching the 8:15 train to the office each day. What are here are the exciting moments of life, the moments that make life fun and remain in the memory of the author. It is discovering life, not as you expected it to happen but as it really did happen.

About the Author

Few people have a career chosen for them before they enter elementary school. Robert Craven did. His Aunt Irene (Mrs. F. A. Davis) took him from his mother and brother to raise him, educate him, and to have him run the business she inherited from her husband. She and Bobby did not see things the same way. She was from the Victorian Era and lived as though it would continue indefinitely. Bobby found new and exciting dramas in publishing and in business itself.
