About the Book

The purpose of this book is to introduce young children to the history of the United States in an outline form through its presidents. This "Presidential Primer" presents concise and relevant information just enough to arouse an interest for further research in the library. Children do not have the patience nor the temperament to read voluminous literature. the book provides information on all presidents in hand and they can go back and forth conveniently as compared to books about one president only or a world almanac. Parents and teachers have lauded the book for its usefulness in doing school projects. The realistic portraits by the author in itself is worth the price of the book.

About the Author

Salim Ayub is a professional engineer who draws as a hobby. He studied at Oklahoma State University and has resided in Houston, Texas with his family since 1981. He enjoys reading history and current politics. This book is his way of showing appreciation for the American democratic system of government which has shown its ability to survive even when times were adverse. He also believes that the men who became presidents are no ordinary people. (At least most of them.) Young readers by being exposed to the lives of these 42 men can set similar high goals in life and then work hard to achieve them. From Washington to Bush, the republic ahs survived and thrived following the system the founding fathers formed 227 years ago. The author is indebted to many friends and especially his family who encouraged and gave invaluable advice in bringing the book to culmination.
