About the Book

“A Life Story for my Grandchildren” tells of growing up in America as a child of immigrant background, of jobs, friends and falling in love, of starting a business on a shoe string, of involvement in Democratic politics and support of non-profit causes. Stuart Moldaw’s family story ranges from Bolshevik Russia to Depression-era Massachusetts to serving in the Pacific during World War II to the apparel markets of New York City and the grand department stores of the past, ultimately moving to California where he takes part in the mall-driven revolution that changed the face of retailing.
