About the Book
In a whimsical flight of Baby Boomer fancy, Robert Christanos takes us to the heart of the angst of ageing. From gut-rending sadness about outsourcing and homelessness to hilarious dialogue about Boomer sex, Christanos sagely cuts to the core. His characters are both insightful, and clueless, evidenced by the way Sylvia let’s the men know just how little they know about her. Funding retirement? Elaborate schemes revealed --- from peddling marginal real estate, to gained E-Bay riches, to hitting the lotto. Throughout, Christanos never lets us forget the ugly pitfalls of retirement, just as he points out the exalted joys.
About the Author
Robert Christanos grew up in California, Utah, and Montana, and now lives in the Pacific Northwest. He’s worked as a newspaper boy, door-to-door salesman, choker-setter in the Pacific Northwest woods, cat-skinner, and hide-stacker in a tannery. In the Army he headed up a payroll section. After four years of college (University of Maryland, European Division, and The University of Washington) Mr. Christanos worked in government service with mixed feelings and results, hence the idea for NAMTA (National Anti-Multi-Tasking Association). An unfulfilled desire of his is to pan gold in Alaska. Mr. Christanos also regrets he was never a gandy-dancer.
