About the Book

When Alicia’s mother brings her to her new home, an old run down house in a mysterious dark town, it is close to Halloween. Alicia stumbles through a portal that leads to a strange world of ghouls, vampires, and monstrous creatures of all sorts. She learns that her only way out is to find a wish granting Dark Diamond. Finding it involves dangers, and bizarre encounters. Some of the world’s inhabitants are kind and helpful, or at least they seem to be. Others are definitely not nice. Alicia faces her fears and discovers a strength and determination that grows with each encounter, but will they be enough to save her? Will she ever get back home and will she learn why this world exists at all?

About the Author

Connor M. Daoust is a grade nine high school student. He has written short stories, plays and comic books and has designed children’s board games. He is also an actor. His fascination with mythology, the supernatural, and witches, has drawn him to acquire a rich knowledge of unusual characters and settings that allows him to present an entertaining collection of people, creatures and circumstances. He lives in King City, near Toronto, Ontario, Canada with his family, two big dogs, and a rabbit.
