About the Book

Mary Lawrence is a nerdy high school senior recently orphaned and tormented by the cool kids. She believes her life will make no positive difference. Mary’s joy comes from the music of the world’s most famous rock band, Promise. She meets a mysterious newcomer to the school, Matthew Blair, who also becomes a pariah because he upstages the “in” group. The two form a friendship that involves Promise, leading to incredible social change.

About the Author

David Levin is a Houston attorney. His practice has given the author an intimate view of the dark side of life: seemingly intractable social problems and people in desperate trouble. Levin’s works explore the innate hope of human kind to overcome personal failure, to rise above one’s base tendencies, and to create a life worth living. Spirituality, courage, and triumph are themes in his works of fiction.
