Michael W. French M.D. Michael W. French M. D. is a native of Athens, Alabama. He attended public schools in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. In May 1976, he graduated with an A. B. degree in Biological Sciences. After applying and earning admission to Indiana University School of Medicine during his junior year of college, his senior year of undergraduate studies was combined with his first year of medical school. Therefore, he graduated from medical school and received his M. D. degree in May 1979 at the age of 24. He completed his internship and residency training in Indianapolis. In 1983, he went to Augusta, Georgia, and began a one year fellowship in neuromuscular diseases and electromyography (EMG) at the Medical College of Georgia. While there, he served as an Instructor in the department of neurology. During his sophomore year at Indiana University, he accepted the call to the ministry, and was ordained at the age of 19. He became the pastor of New St. Mark Church of God In Christ in July 1982. He has also served as District Superintendent, secretary of the Pastors and Elders Council of Indiana First Jurisdiction, Church of God In Christ, member of the Executive Board and secretary of the board, of the same jurisdiction. Currently, he serves on the advisory board and is secretary to the Executive Board of the 4th Jurisdiction of Indiana, Church of God In Christ. He is married to his wife, Gloria, and has two children, Michelle and Michael II.
