Brent Bandy started out as a chemical engineer and is now a grandfather. He and his wife Elaine have two children, Elizabeth and Tim. Tim and his wife Veronica have three children, Kimberly, Matthew, and Joshua. Brent eventually became a college professor and started writing this story while administering an exam.
