About the Book
This is a story of a large family, ten. I dedicate it to all the families in the world-to all the mothers and fathers that have had incidents happen to them like the ones that happened to us and haven't had the courage or the opportunity, whichever it takes, to confess to them in writing. Many of you will recognize yourselves in some of the situations I describe, and that is how it should be, for we all have stories to tell. We're just humans, therefore all alike. So sit yourself down in a cozy chair and relax because we're going to be together for a while. If you happen to laugh occasionally and some member of your family stares at you strangely, tell them you're reading about something they have done and it got funnier in the retelling. Remember old times, and laugh with me, my friends.
About the Author
My name is Irene Braun. I’ve been married over half a century. My husband and I have raised eight kids (four boys and four girls). We now have twenty-one grandkids and four great-grandkids, and we are still mostly sane. I began writing in my teens and worked on our high school paper and yearbook for three years. I couldn’t act my way out of a paper bag, but I was good at directing others and won the position of directing our senior play. Music was a big part of my life, and my dad recorded me first when I was about four years old. He and I used to sing “The Old Lamp Lighter,” a song I was particularly fond of. My dad was a great person. They say a girl often marries her dad, and I think I did when I married my Ron. I love baking and cooking. I make pies for the freezer and family from our orchard and also I make the best boysenberry jam ever tasted. I’ve compiled all the recipes I’ve cooked over the years and gave copies to all our kids and grandkids. I also knit and crochet. I am a curious person, and I love life.
