About the Author

Anessa Haney is a mother, widow, care giver, and award winning Connecticut community activist who was motivated by the events of September 11th 2001. She is a former Putnam Connecticut Mayoral candidate who is responsible for successfully spearheading numerous community based projects; including environmental awareness such as litter control, community gardens and neighborhood rehabilitation projects. In 2005 she petitioned, and testified to CT State Legislators on the matter of eminent domain. She succeeded in leading the way for Putnam residents to vote against the use of eminent domain for “economic development purposes”.
