About the Book

The most honest emotions, armed with a love for the written word, can produce some of the most exquisite poetry that pierces the heart. People write when they are inspired, and in turn, the written word inspires other people to rekindle feelings of old, or evoke feelings yet to be encountered. Poet-author Ray Greene shares a collection of heartfelt words that will forever bear emotions, thoughts, and experiences in "We’ve All Been There." A poet knows no depth, no boundaries, when it comes to expressing thoughts or emotions. With each poetic verse, a segment of life is revealed or reveled, and then shared with people, reaffirming the fact that in this cycle called life, we are not alone. "We’ve All Been There" connects readers to certain people, places, and times wherein each unique feeling was conceived, exploring the limitless capability of people to feel, think, and express. After many years of writing for my own pleasure I decided, with some urging from friends, to compile some of my work and get it published. So, here it is! The book expresses my view of events common to all men and women—the folly of love and relationships. The selections were written over a wide range of time; however, the state of relationships and emotion, even in our changing society, remains eerily similar to times past; therefore, those poems I wrote early maintain their relevancy today.

About the Author

I was an All-American football player at the University of Akron. After graduating with a Degree in Telecommunication and English, I taught in high school for a few years before embarking on a successful coaching career as a collegiate and professional football coach; however, during my thirty-five year coaching career, I never abandoned my love for reading and writing poetry. After many years of writing for my own pleasure, I decided, with some urging from friends, to compile some of my work and try to get it published. So, here it is! This book expresses my view of events common to all men and women - the folly of love and relationships. The selections were written over a wide range of time; however, the state of relationships and emotion, even in our changing society, remains eerily similar to times past; therefore, those poems I wrote early maintain their relevancy today. Thanks to those who read my work and encouraged me to make the effort to publish. I am eternally grateful they lighted the match that started the fire. They know who they are and that is sufficient.
