About the Author

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. His father was a city fireman for over thirty five years Graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Attended College earning an A.A. in English, B.S. in Biology and Ph.D. in Biology. Commissioned 2Lt. upon graduation from college. Assigned to Amarillo AFB as a B-52 crew member. Duty included flying over 148 combat missions in Viet Nam. Awarded Numerous decorations to include the Distinguished Flying Cross presented by General William C. Westmoreland. Also awarded the Air Medal with Ten Oak Leaf Clusters. Avid golfer and member of his college golf team. First Fire Chief of the local Volunteer Fire Department, member of the American Legion, Member of The Disabled American Veterans. Past President of his Lion’s club and past Zone Chairman. Loves fishing, gardening, and hunting. Married for over twenty years to his wife Gail who has three children and two grandchildren. Jim has three children and four grandchildren.
