About the Book

I am writing this book on marriage, parenting and education first of all because they are all passions of my heart; second of all, I hope to help my own kids in their marriages, raising their kids and giving my grandchildren a great education; the final purpose of this book is to help others develop better skills in the above mentioned areas so we can start raising generations of responsible, respectful leaders who make positive influences and wise decisions based on the leadership of God and His holy word. Sincerely, Machele C. Bess

About the Author

I am a daughter of a preacher, who moved from one place to another to get me out of my shyness. I also love to sing and I have always been a worker in the church. I met my husband at Eastern Kentucky University. I got my degree at EKU and then received my graduate at Georgetown College. I am a former teacher who has with the guidance of God and my wonderful husband raised two great kids in Owenton, Ky. The oldest child, Ben, is a graduate of Campbellsville University with a degree in Educational Ministries and Psychology. He is married to Mindie Bess who will soon be a pediatric nurse. Rebekah, our youngest is attending Campbellsville University majoring in Elementary Education who will soon be married to a preacher named Trask Murphy. Mark is retired from the Kentucky State Police. I retired in the year 2001 from teaching due to dealing with several health issues such as Parkinson, atrophic gastritis, congenital back problems and arthritis. I was putting so much energy into the day with my job that I wasn’t giving my family what they needed at the end of the day. Family comes first, so I retired. My husband and I are experiencing “the empty nest syndrome” now. So, I decided to write my thoughts in the form of a book to try to help my friends and loved ones learn from my successes and failures with the guidance of God’s Word. Enjoy! M. Bess
