About the Author

Stella Butler grew up in the backwoods of Chatham, Virginia. She says that her father often encouraged her writing and that he continues to motivate her, even though he is no longer alive. Butler took several writing classes, but believes that her creative abilities were given to her from her Creator, as her gift in life. Butler now lives in Eden, North Carolina with her second husband. She has two grown children by her first husband. It was in Eden that she experienced her deep inner awakening, which prompted her to begin writing, again. For many years, Butler was unable to do anything physically or process anything mentally and she still struggles with her disabilities. In her spare time, Butler enjoys listening to music, spending time with her family, going to church and walking. She also likes to dance and garden when her body allows it. Stella has published one book of Poetry, “A Single Moment in Time and 17 Poems. She has an Editors Choice Award, four Nonfiction Awards in writing, two Golden Poet Awards(1990 and 1991), one Poet of Merit Ward (1989), one International Poet Award, three Honorable Mention Awards, Honored by Madison Who’s Who in 2009, and given a Certificate of Acknowledgement by the BoysTown,2009.
