About the Author

I am a WWII hearing-impaired veteran, 86 years old this past June and am also legally blind. I was born in Hardee County, Florida in 1923. I have almost 30 year’s experience in the newspaper business and several years as a stockbroker. Later I opened the first privately owned Sears and Roebuck catalog store in South Florida, which I operated until retirement and then passed the business to my wife who maintained it until her retirement. I still live in Englewood, Florida with my youngest son Mike and his wife Cindy, just a block or so away from where Mike was born in 1962.
