Go back in time to the little family farm and the old unique way of farming. Two crops, two batches, two harvests. Paul and Polly had two crops of children, four decades of raising a family. Polly tells of the significant differences in raising the two families and their simple lifestyle on a farm in rural Rockingham County, NC.

About the Author

Polly Biggs was born in the neat little town of Stoneville, NC. Her fi rst remembrance of the farming life was beating the heck out of a rock while hoeing tobacco. She accidentally cut off a tobacco plant but immediately planted it back hoping her daddy wouldn’t fi nd out. What a false hope. She was an “A-B” student up to the 9th grade when she married her husband Paul at the age of 15. She was a mother at 16. She told Paul, after the baby was born, that would be the last, but over the years, it was number 9. At last count, they have 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
