About the Author
Amethyst A. Nelson immigrated from St Kitts W.I. to the United States at a young age. As she embarked on a new horizon, she had several aspirations: to be a nurse, a stewardess, and to go to Hollywood to become the next Lena Horn. But as she proceeded to evolve culturally, she contemplated a career in journalism. She made a vow to herself that above all, she would write a book someday. Anyone who knew her or met her even briefly would avow that writing a book one-day was her declaration. She first obtained her LPN in high school and worked as a LPN for a number of years. She went back to school and completed a Registered Nurse program, earning an ADN Degree. Amethyst continued her scholastic excursion, which enabled her to receive a BS, Health Administration Degree in 1996. She worked in a trauma center for years as a Critical Care Nurse. She also ventured out on travel assignments as a nurse for a few years. In 1999, Amethyst established a company, NAJA Personal Care, in New York but have since relocated to Georgia and reestablished the company there. While in Georgia, she established an outreach program in a church, which conducted monthly health screenings. She currently works as a Hospice care provider. Amethyst self-published a novel a few years ago and her goal is to own her own publishing company someday soon. She is in the process of publishing her second novel and a book of poetry.
