Wretched

About the Book

Wretched is a difficult, but palatable story of child poverty for older children—a somewhat allegorical story with a good measure of truth and a just enough hope to inspire young minds. With the ever-increasing need food banks try to address, greater child poverty rates, and more and more people on the streets, perhaps we all need to see child poverty in the starkness of Wretched’s reality. The author highly recommends that parents, teachers, or other adults read Wretched with their children or children in their charge.

About the Author

David Berezan is a writer, teacher, actor, director, technical director, stage manager, lighting, sound and set designer, drummer, singer, and playwright. He has a B.Ed. and an M.Ed. from the University of Alberta, and his teaching qualifications are accredited in two countries, England and Canada. He has almost thirty years experience in public education and at the college level. He is also a Lieutenant, Firefighter, and Rescue Leader with Merritt Fire and Rescue, a First Aid Instructor with St. John Ambulance, a Level 3 Occupational First Aid Attendant, and a First Responder Instructor/Evaluator with the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
