About the Book

This lively tale is about a HUGE catfish who is infamously named, "Saint Cat". He seems to get into all kinds of trouble but never gets caught by a fisherman for lunch. Because he escapes from so many dangers, others think he must surely be a Saint! The story is set in Louisiana know for its lively culture and wildlife paradise of many rivers, swamps, and mysterious bayous. "Wildlife Species" included in this book have descriptions of habitat and environments of the characters included in the back of this book. This makes the book an interesting and fun science and nature-learning book for children. The author, Lilajean Almond is a journalist and the co-author/illustrator, Brigitte A. Murchison is an art teacher and published non-fiction author, and poet. Saint Cat is a famous fish with very good luck. He seems to get into all kinds of trouble but never gets caught by a fisherman for lunch. Because he escapes from so many dangers others think he must surely be a Saint!
