About the Book

The author’s poetry is generally inspired by the simplicities of life; a word, a thought, an action, or the observation of mere human interactions.  Many of the poems in Random are loosely based on the author’s collective experience of working with indigent families. Very few of the verses in this collection of poems are depictions of the author’s personal life.  One of the author’s favorite poems in Random is ‘Bathroom Etiquette’.  It is a page plucked directly from the author’s personal repertoire, albeit with minuscule modification. The author is most inspired when in a melancholy state of mind, which is often punctuated in his poetry.  Random offers the reader an insightful glimpse into the eclectic style of poetry from the author’s collection. 

About the Author

About the Author: The author was born on a beautiful, exotic, but impoverished Caribbean Island (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), where he lived until immigrating to the United States at the age of 12. Though his parents lacked a formal education, it was his mother’s profound desire that he obtained an education in the United State. The author graduated from California State University, Long Beach with both a Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree in the Behavioral Sciences. He is the middle child of seven siblings, and currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children. This is the author’s debut book of poetry. There is only one thing the author enjoys as much as breathing—his passion for writing.
