About the Book

A Thousand and One Words gives you the best of both worlds in the art of poetry and photography! Heart-rending poems about lust, fear, secrets and more will leave you in awe. An intermission of moments captured in black and white photographs brings together two art forms rarely seen together. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in addition to the visual stories, pages from the life of author Sha-Sonja A. Wilson in her debut book A Thousand and One Words will add just one more.

About the Author

Sha-Sonja A. Wilson is the owner of Silver Tears Productions, LLC. Her line of work establishes her in the fields of photography, fashion, dance, music, film, literature and sports.

Born in Jamaica, West Indies, Sha-Sonja moved to the United States at the tender age of three with her mother, Opal and younger brother, Robert. Known as the “quiet girl with the book in her hand”, or “the one with the pencil and a pad”, Sha-Sonja always had a knack for taking creative risks no matter what the situation is. Her youthful trait of forever being curious is what keeps this young lady driven in the arts. Being an artist in a variety of mediums, in 2011, Sha-Sonja decided to start her own company, Silver Tears Productions, LLC, in response to her desire and passion to help upcoming and underground artists like herself. Her company's motto speaks for what all artists are determined to achieve and that is to “be heard in art form.”

Throughout life's challenges, both personal and interpersonal, it was only natural that a bookworm would also delve into the world of literature. Writing became Sha-Sonja's outlet and gave her the opportunity to express herself in ways she'd never thought possible. Sha-Sonja believes that a person living an abstract life will also be drawn to the abstract art of poetry, and alongside that discovery came the art of photography as well - which she describes as “being the second window to one's soul.”

Sha-Sonja currently lives in Queens, New York with her fiance.
