About the Author

Barbara Clouser Abbott Barbara lives with her husband John and 21-year-old daughter Michelle in a small, central Pennsylvania village in the heart of Brush Valley's Amish settlement. Her family has owned a dairy farm there for 51 years, and she grew up with a great appreciation of hard-working farmers. Barbara is an avid reader and writer. She has written hundreds of short stories for Union Gospel Press since 1979, and she has published three Biblical dramas. An avid photographer, Barbara has had photos and/or articles published in the following magazines: The Western Horseman, Farm & Ranch Living, Country People, Country Kids, Organic Gardening and Farming, New Farm, and The Penn Stater. Barbara loves horses, having owned, boarded or trained about 50 horses of many different breeds in her lifetime. Barbara's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is a very precious part of her life, even more since she has successfully undergone treatment for breast cancer in the past year. She is active in her church, and loves singing and sharing her testimony of healing with others. Barbara enjoys gardening, writing, reading, and people. She began her writing career as a senior in high school, spending ten years working for local newspapers. She was employed by Chemical Engineering at Penn State for 28 years, retiring in 2003.
